Where something a bit different to traditional turf is required, Rhizomatous Tall Fescue can prove invaluable. It is particularly deep rooting and produces rhizomes (underground stems) for repairing damaged areas. It is ideal for applications that require really tough turf like; private lawns, football fields and many other applications likely to be subject to heavy wear and tear.

Features include:

  • Turf Growers’ Association certified turf, to ensure the highest quality
  • Deep rooting to depths of up to 1.5 metres, along with excellent recovery characteristics
  • It also contains other tall fescue grasses and a smooth stalked meadow grass. Enhancing the strength and density of this turf grass
  • It has a hard leaf, making it useful for golf fairways and semi-roughs
  • Performs well in both drought and water-logged situations, as well as having good shade and salt tolerance
  • Slower growing than other turf grasses
  • Typical seed mixture:

- 25% rhizomatous tall fescue - festuca arundinacea
- 65% tall fescue - festuca arundinacea
- 10% smooth stalked meadow grass – poa pratensis or 10% perennial ryegrass - lolium perenne

(We reserve the right to alter the above seed mixtures without prior notification)

  • This mixture is best left at 25mm. However, it is also capable of being kept at up to 80mm, if required.
  • To preserve the quality mow regularly, whilst never taking more than a quarter of the leaf off.
  • Longer grass will cope better with adverse weather conditions and in areas that are intensively utilised.

A very tough turf grass blend that is particularly useful when used in intensively utilised areas of application, such as natural grass walkways, football and rugby fields and even grass airfields. The perfect turf where grip and disease tolerance is required, yet without compromising on looking attractive.

With a fine appearance, this high quality 100% Fescue turf grass is ideal for bowling greens, golf and ornamental lawns.
